Our Staff
We presently have four doctors, four technicians, four receptionists, two kennel/dog wash assistants, and "greeters" which include two kitties Josie and Michael aka "Mike" or "The Mick."
Steve Milner, DVM- Dr. Milner has been practicing in Oregon City since graduating from Oregon State University in 1993. He opened the hospital in January 2000 and has enjoyed getting to know all the clients and their pets during the past 11 years. His interest in veterinary medicine includes a variety of surgical procedures and laser therapy. He has two young children and a dog. He is a member of the AVMA, OVMA, and PVMA. Dr. Milner is also involved in our community by frequently sponsoring community fundraisers and school activities.
Angela Turra, DVM- Dr. Turra is also a graduate of Oregon State University. She graduated in June of 2003, has been with us at Milner Vet since December 2003 and is now practicing part-time. Dr. Turra is also a member of the AVMA. Her two children, two dogs, three cats, five chickens, and one pony keep her busy in her free time.
Alex Berthrong DVM- Dr. Berthrong has returned to Milner Veterinary Hospital as our lead doctor and exotic veterinarian after a short time away. He graduated from UC Davis, California and his professional interests include ultrasound and surgery.
Hannah Mauck, DVM- Dr. Mauck is currently with us part-time. She too is a graduate of Oregon State University. She has been practicing here at Milner Vet since 2004. Dr. Mauck is also a member of the AVMA.
Josie- Josie was found as a kitten in October of 2001 hobbling around on a broken front leg. She was brought to us to have her leg repaired and then we were going to find the spunky little kitten a home. However, we never really got around to it. Josie occasionally makes an appearance in the front office area but she mostly runs the back office and her main job is walking across the keyboard as you're working on the computer. She loves to squeeze herself into a small cardboard box for a nap but will claim the office chairs as her domain as well. She's lost a little of her spunk as she's getting older but she still is a pretty sweet kitty.
Michael aka Mike aka The Mick- Mike came to us with his mother in 2010. Both were to be placed in our lobby for adoption, however, only Momma Cat found herself a home. But it didn't take long for us to realize how cool of a cat The Mick is so we kept him as our own and he's been entertaining us since. Interestingly, more people have discovered themselves what an awesome feline he is and have wanted to take him home with them. But we love him too much to let him go anywhere else. What would we do without the cat who "mothers" our new kittens up for adoption until they find homes? Or lets kids carry him around like a baby? Or is afraid of bananas? (Yep, that's right, bananas.) This place just wouldn't be the same without him.
